Presbyterian Women (PW) is a churchwide women’s organization whose membership is open to all women of the PC(USA) who choose to participate in or be supportive of the organization in any way. PW gives strong support to the mission of the PC(USA) but determines its own leadership, program and budget. Presbyterian Women is organized at all levels of the PC(USA)—in congregations, presbyteries and synods. Our PW group at Falling Spring continues to be very active in the work of the church on all levels, and currently includes women who hold offices at the presbytery and synod levels.
The PW Purpose makes clear what PW is all about.
“Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace, and
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.”
PW offers opportunities for mission, fellowship, fun, study and personal growth. We are self-supporting and have different fund-raising efforts during the year, both for special projects and for support of our ongoing mission efforts.
