Frequently Asked Questions

If I use my access card to unlock a door, will that door remained unlocked?”

No, the door will lock upon closing.

Must I let everyone in my group into the building since I am the one with an access card?

If you are meeting during a regularly scheduled time, like weekly meetings, Midweek classes & church services, the door is scheduled to unlock for the meeting, and lock afterward. If meeting at other times, you can either stay by the door to let people in, or request a scheduled unlock from James Wright or Kory Wengert.

Do I have to lock doors when I leave?

No. Doors will automatically lock when doors are closed following your entry at a non-scheduled time or doors will automatically lock according to the scheduled times (see above).

Should I check the door to be sure that the door has closed completely when I leave a building?

Yes, please. Automatic locks will NOT engage if the door is not shut completely.

Do I need to push the green “Door Open” button to leave a building?

No. There is a sensor which unlocks the door when you exit. If the sensor is malfunctioning, feel free to use the button. Or, if you just really like pushing buttons, go for it!

If you have a question not on this list, please contact Kory Wengert. There is a link to email her in the About Kory section of the Staff page.
